Dakota Johnson leads an ensemble of actors for directors Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne’s new film Am I OK?
Dakota Johnson is starting the new year off with a new film project, signing on to join a talented ensemble in Am I OK?
The 31-year-old daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson has joined the cast of the new project from directors Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne, via Variety.
Also boarding the project with Johnson is Sonoya Mizuno, Jermaine Fowler, Whitmer Thomas, Molly Gordon, June Diane Raphael, Notaro and Sean Hayes.

The story centers on best friends Lucy and Jane, though it’s unclear who is playing the two main characters at this time.
Both Lucy and Jane are lifelong friends who believe they know everything about one another, which is tested when Jane announces she’s leaving Los Angeles for a new job in London.
Lucy reveals a ‘deeply buried, long-held secret,’ which tests their bond as they try to sort out everything.

Notaro and Allynne, who have been married since 2015, will both co-direct the film from a script by Lauren Pomerantz.
Production is scheduled to begin on February 1 in Los Angeles, with financing through Erik Feig’s new company Picturestart.
‘We are honored to bring Lauren’s script to life with Tig and Stephanie at the helm,’ Feig said in a statement.

Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum will also serve as producers through their Gloria Sanchez Productions company.
Johnson will also serve as a producer with her and Ro Donnelly’s TeaTime Pictures, alongside Notaro and Allynne’s Something Fierce company.

Johnson actually mentioned to Ellen in a now infamous November 2019 interview that Notaro was her favorite comedian… before she corrected, ‘other than you.’
Johnson most recently starred in The High Note with Tracee Ellis Ross and Ice Cube, and The Nowhere Inn, and she’ll next be seen in The Lost Daughter.
