Other details include a white cot and changing table with a beige comfy-looking armchair.

Rebecca has already filled the room with toys, books and personalised details for her second child.

She captioned the transformation post with: ‘Baby’s room [blue heart] This room has taken months. It was my walk in wardrobe as our bedroom doesn’t have wardrobes as it’s a loft conversion.

‘We never painted the room or did anything to it when we moved in. So it needed new carpet, new double glazed window and it all painting.

‘Luckily, I saved most things I had from when Summer was a baby… the cot, chair, baby change table etc. We have got a new wardrobe from @mamasandpapas which is such a perfect size and we love it!

‘We are also sooo grateful to family and friends for passing on second hand things and some lovely new gifts too. Thank you so much. #nurserydecor #babysroom #home #roommakeover.’

The athlete has been busy transforming her home ahead of the baby’s arrival and earlier this month she unveiled her ‘dream’ kitchen.

It comes after Rebecca joked that she was ‘ready to pop’ earlier this week as she shared a snap of her baby bump.

The Olympic gold medallist was every inch the doting mother-to-be as she affectionately touched her growing tummy in the selfie.

She captioned the radiant picture with: ‘Yep I’m ready to pop! So excited for the little one to arrive. I feel like it’s gone quite quickly until now…. now it feels like it’s dragging but then again we’re in lockdown and it’s January.’

It comes after Rebecca revealed she is not a ‘strict parent’ with daughter Summer, five, who she co-parents with ex-husband Harry Needs.

The swimmer said that people expect her to be harder on her daughter because of her experience of training for the Olympics

However, Rebecca said that she and Harry, 28, who is a former swimmer himself, have adopted a ‘good cop and bad cop’ style of parenting.

The Olympian said that she is a soft parent, hinting that Harry takes the role of ‘bad cop’ in the candid insight into their life as exes.

Rebecca and Harry married in 2014 and split in 2016, after 18 months of marriage.

Talking to The Sun, Rebecca said: ‘We call it good cop and bad cop. When she was born everyone thought I would be the bad cop — because of my sports background, I am quite tough…

‘I’m like, ‘No, let’s do it, we can do this’. That is my kind of mentality. To be a sportsperson you have to be like that.

‘And I think everyone was like, ‘Bec is going to be the bad cop’. But I am definitely not the bad cop. I get told off for being too soft with Summer.’

Rebecca is due to welcome her second child in February, her first child with her boyfriend Andrew Parsons.
