Karl Stefanovic tells a horrified Allison Langdon that her husband Mike Willesee texted him and said his Today show co-host should go to ‘the kitchen’
Today host Karl Stefanovic horrified his co-host Allison Langdon on Friday when he made claims about her home life on the breakfast show.
In a long lead up to a segment about kitchen organising, the 46-year-old claimed he received a text from Allison’s husband Mike Willesee Jr – son of the late journalist Mike Willesee Sr.
The TV presenter explained that he texted Mike about taking her somewhere she had ‘never been before.’

Karl revealed: ‘[Mike’s] reply was, “How about the kitchen?”
He insisted: ‘I’m not making this up. That’s what he said. That’s what Mike said to me in a text message-y thing.’
Allison’s jaw dropped as she remarked: ‘You’re making this up!’ and demanded to see the message.

Karl told her to ‘pay attention’ to the next story, adding that the message of it was ‘from Mike to you.’
Allison played along with the banter, folding her arms and remarking: ‘I don’t know who’s in more trouble right now. It’s pretty even.’
She dispelled her husband’s claim, telling her co-host: ‘I actually spend lots of time in the kitchen.’

Despite her insistence, Karl laughed and said: ‘There is not a single person in Australia who believes you right now.’
‘That is bollocks – I love cooking,’ she added.
Allison and her husband Mike have been married since 2008. The couple are proud parents to two children – son Mack, three, and daughter Scout, two.
