Abbie Chatfield broke down in tears after being bitten by a snake on Thursday night’s episode of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia.
And fans were left enraged, with many flocking to social media and insisting that the challenge was ‘traumatic and unnecessary’.
‘That snake biting Abbie was f**king TRAUMATIC..say all you want about it not being venomous… but this sh*t is unnecessary #ImACelebrityAU #sorryabbie,’ one wrote.

‘I feel so bad for Abbie right now. I couldn’t do it at all!’ another agreed. ‘That was so horrible. She’s much braver than me,’ one said.
During Thursday night’s episode, Abbie fell to the ground in tears and screamed as a snake wrapped its jaw around her hand.

‘Ahhhh, it’s biting me, biting me, biting me,’ Abbie said while her hand was stuck in a box during a challenge.
‘Just keep calm Abbie, it’s okay. Hold my hand,’ the show’s host Dr. Chris Brown said as he desperately tried to comfort her.
As Dr. Chris cradled a distraught Abbie, as a snake handler helped remove the reptile off her.

It comes after her co-star Toni Pearen was repeatedly bitten on the face by a snake during a terrifying challenge on the show, earlier this month.
The 48-year-old actress was forced to stick her head in a perspex box while pythons crawled around her head.
As she struggled to stay calm, one of the snakes repeatedly launched itself at Toni’s face, biting her nose and cheeks.
The former E Street actress became visibly distressed during the horrific incident, crying and repeatedly screaming, ‘Oh my God!’
After finally being allowed to remove her head from the box, Toni folded over and began to shake.
‘Can we have the medic, please?’ called out concerned host Julia Morris to one of the show’s producers.
