The Walking Dead fans express concern as star Chandler Riggs shares snap giving thumbs up in hospital bed without explanation: ‘You’re scaring me’

  • This was not the first time Chandler has landed himself in the hospital as he was rushed to the hospital after being thrown off of a horse in November 2019 
  • Chandler was cast as Carl on The Walking Dead at the age of 10 in 2010
  • He was let go in late 2017 when his character was controversially killed off midway through the eighth season which was drastically different from comics

Chandler Riggs – who used to star on The Walking Dead – left fans concerned as he posted an unexplained photo of himself in a hospital bed.

The 21-year-old actor took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to share the photo of himself laying in full patient garb including protective face mask as he gave the thumbs up toward the camera.

Hours later his mother, Gina-Ann Riggs, took to Instagram to shed a little more light on the situation without giving a full explanation.

She wrote: ‘I had no idea he posted this picture. For all of you who are worried, he had to have minor surgery but is in recovery now. I’m with him and he’s doing well. Thank you for your kind words and well wishes.’

He could be seen covered up in a silver warming blanket as several IV drops are seen in his right arm leaving many of his fans to wonder what had happened in the comments.

One very concerned follower wrote: ‘Chandler what’s going on your scaring me like really scaring me please be ok.’

Another said: ‘OMG what happened chandler? Someone explains to me what happened I don’t understand why is he in the hospital??’

Obviously several referenced his work on The Walking Dead but perhaps the most humorous of all was one who joked about Carl’s eye being shot off in season 6.

They posted photo of his character with his right eye missing along with the caption: ‘Congrats on the eye transplant. They did an amazing job [hand clap emoji]’
