Dani Dyer reveals she has named her ‘perfect’ baby boy Santiago

Dani Dyer has revealed the name of her son, three days after his birth.

The Love Island star, 24, and her boyfriend Sammy Kimmence welcomed their first child on Saturday, and on Tuesday night Dani made an appearance on the latest episode of the podcast she shares with her dad, actor Danny. 

In a voice memo played by Danny, the new mum told her fans that she and Sammy have named their newborn Santiago.

Danny introduced the latest instalment of the podcast, Sorted With The Dyers by proudly telling listeners: ‘So this episode is going to start a bit differently as we’ve got some massive news. It’s f**king huge.’

‘Because… I’m a Granddad! Yeah, Granddad Danny is what I’m now known as. And Dani has sent a voice memo to update us, which I think is very, very lovely…’

Dani sounded emotional as she said in the voice note: ‘I honestly can’t believe it, he’s finally here, our little boy. I never thought I’d meet him. I felt like it was going on and on,’ she continued. 

‘But me and Sammy are so in love with him. He’s just so perfect and the feeling is just incredible, I can’t put into words how it feels. 

She then revealed his name, teasing: ‘I know you’re all probably wondering what we’ve called him. There’s been a lot of assumptions going on, some are actually really funny to be fair, but his name is Santiago.’

‘I know a lot of you are probably thinking “What?!” but that is his name but we are going to be calling him Santi,’

Dani added. ‘I think it sounds nice on the birth certificate.’

She ended the voice memo by promising: ‘I’ll be giving you all the details on the podcast next week about my labour and stuff, you’re going to want to hear all about that, but until then, here he is!, before sharing a gurgle from baby Santi. 

Earlier on Tuesday Dani’s mum Joanne Mas joked her daughter’s newborn baby was called ‘Jose Pepito Kanye Mas-Dyer Kimmence’. 

Joanne shared a sweet poem alongside a snap of her grandson and joked Kanye could be a ‘beautiful name’ for him. 

Joanne wrote: ‘WELCOME TO THE WORLD MY DARLING JOSE PEPITO KANYE MAS-DYER KIMMENCE. (But your not allowed a Tottenham bib incase you get it dirty). I am so proud, blessed, & absolutely over La Luna. 

‘What a beautiful name this could be.’

The accompanying poem had lines such as: ‘A little boy to fill your heart with love beyond compare, an angel sent from heaven a lifetime yet to share’.  

Dani and her boyfriend Sammy Kimmence welcomed their first child on Saturday, sharing the happy news online a day later. 

Dani’s actor dad Danny Dyer was seen heading to his daughter’s house to meet his newborn grandson for the first time on Monday. 

The EastEnders star, 43, cut a casual figure as he toted an empty car seat and prepared to meet the newest member of the family.   

Parents with children under one are allowed a support bubble under the current pandemic guidelines. 

Taking to Instagram on Sunday for her baby announcement, Dani told fans her baby was born weighing 7 pound but has yet to reveal his name. 

She penned: ‘After a very long day and night finally our special little boy arrived 23/01/2021.

‘Weighing 7 pound. We are in a complete baby bubble and enjoying every moment, can not believe he is ours, completely in love and so grateful to be his mummy..

‘Sending all my love to all the other mommas to be out there in lockdown.. the best experience ever will never forget this day.

Dani’s boyfriend Sammy also shared a beautiful tribute to Dani and their newborn son as he posted photos from the delivery room. 

He wrote: ‘Wow I just simply cannot put this moment in to words, a day I will never forget with a boy I will never stop loving. 

‘You have my heart son and wow what a woman your mother is.’
