Burns Night is a celebration of the life and poetry of Scottish poet Robert Burns, marked each year on his birthday, January 25.

Oliver and Emma confirmed they married in a church ceremony in Fulham, London, on December 15, by sharing a series of stunning images from their big day on Instagram.

According to Tatler magazine, Oliver and Emma married at St Albans Church, after previously cancelling three wedding dates due to the global crisis in accordance with government restrictions.

Oliver told the publication that they originally planned to host 200 guests at Cowdray Park, West Sussex, in April, however their grand plans were reduced to just 15 people.

Their fourth wedding attempt was almost thwarted when Boris Johnson announced plans to plunge London into Tier 4, meaning that all wedding receptions were banned.

However before Emma returned home after tearfully listening to the news in the car, her other half had already jumped into action and reorganised their plans so they could wed the following day.

Oliver told the magazine: ‘It was like something out of Home Alone, I just started running round calling everyone to see if they could change the date. By the time Emma got home I said “don’t worry we’re getting married tomorrow instead”.

Emma said: ‘It was an amazing, emotional and intimate day – we were just excited we were finally married.’

Their stylish wedding breakfast was held at hotel and member’s club, The Ned, in the City Of London.

Although Emma’s parents were in attendance, Oliver’s mother, who is based in America, had to watch on FaceTime.
