Popular ‘underground’ rapper 6 Dogs has passed away at the age of 21.

The artist, who was based in Atlanta, Georgia, died by suicide on Tuesday morning, according to Everything Georgia.

The musician, who is best known for the songs Faygo Dreams, Someone and Flossing, revealed last year that he was battling COVID-19.

‘Just took a covid test and my results came back positive:/ I’m str8 just a pretty bad headache,’ he wrote.

‘I’m a healthy dood tho so I should b fine. Unfortunately this will put a delay on the album thx for rockin w me y’all.’

The star hinted at mental health issues when she shared a note on Twitter on November that read: ‘If you have friends in the music biz call them and check on them. This rat race that we all are in is not cool. Some days I feel like a super hero…’

The singer, whose real name is Chase Amick, had a cult following with over 171K Instagram followers and 37K Twitter followers.

It was shared that he tried to keep his singing career a secret from his family when he was a teenager as they were strict Christians. At age 18, he moved out of his family home to live with his girlfriend.

But in 2016 his first song became a hit and he was outed as a serious artist.

His lyrics were often about drugs, cars and girlfriends.

He has said in the past he was overjoyed to be making music: ‘I think it’s crazy that people even listen to my music and like it so much. The other day I was like ‘Wow. I can’t believe it actually worked.’ I get paid to do what I love and it doesn’t even feel like a job.’ 

He also reached out to fans who felt suicidal and encourage them to embrace their flaws. 

He was a fan of singers Kanye West and A$AP Rocky. 

Rapper Lil Aaron tweeted, ‘Rrip 6 dogs. real underground legend. made it all the way to benny blanco off of some internet rap songs. forever the goat.’
