999: What’s Your Emergency? viewers were left in shock after police were called to investigate a gang of teenagers ‘with drugs and a blade’ who had raided a hotel.

Last night’s episode of the Channel 4 show focused on the shocking crimes of South Yorkshire’s teen tearaways – which included cops responding to a report of seven youngsters who claimed they were breaking into a hotel to look for scrap metal and earn a living.

But those who tuned in were equally amused as they were gobsmacked when one of the suspects tried to play down his antics by suggesting that his Stanley Blade was not a knife.

”I don’t have a knife on me. I have a Stanley blade.” LOL,’ mocked one, while a second commented: ‘It’s so demoralising watching 999 What’s Your Emergency. It seems like we live in a lawless society.’

The police who attended the incident could then be seen struggling to lift the wheelie bin filled with scrap which they took away as evidence.

‘Yeah lads, not at all guilty with all that stuff in the bin are ya whilst trying desperately to cover ya face. No guilt?’ commented one, while a second joked:

‘Someone going to be without a wheelybin..council wont be taking their rubbish. #999whatsyouremergency.’

And once taken into custody, the 15-year-old who was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of controlled substance and a knife explained how he didn’t need a solicitor because his offence was only ‘minor.’

At the end of the programme, it was revealed that the youths apprehended with a bin full of scrap metal were not charged with stealing it.

‘I absolutely hate most teens in this country, so many out there wanting to cause trouble, making all teens look like bad people, I’d never do anything that the teens on this programme have done but because of teens like that it makes us all look bad,’ wrote one viewer.

A second commented: ‘Kids can be kids, but not at the expense of others,’ while a third added: ‘Well all they get is a slap on the wrist so of course they’ll do it again. This country is way to soft

However, others questioned whether the blame should fall down to the parents – with some going so far as the say they should be the ones to face prosecution.

‘If they are under 18 their parents should also face judicial process…. Happened on your watch you take responsibility for it. Really not capable of being a parent. We have the SS for that,’ commented one.

A second agreed: ‘Let parents be able to punish the kids, instead of just take the eggsbox off them for a few hours. The law has taken that away from parents and now the cops are having to deal with it.’
