Mandy Moore is preparing for the birth of her first child.

The 36-year-old appears to be in the nesting phase of her pregnancy and she revealed to her Instagram followers that she is getting her home in order to welcome her son in the coming weeks.

While setting up for the baby’s arrival, Mandy came across her ‘fav gift’ from the holidays, a life-like replica of her dog Joni who died unexpectedly in November.

Sweet girl! While setting up for the arrival of her first child, Mandy Moore came across her ‘fav gift’ from the holidays, a life-like replica of her dog Joni who died unexpectedly in November

‘A little #tbt as we continue to set up for [baby emoji]’s arrival,’ she penned in an Instagram post.

‘This was by far my fav gift over the holidays- something that @taylordawesgoldsmith had made,’ she continued.  ‘It’s a little stuffed animal version of my beloved Joni so that our son will still know her, even though they never got to meet.’

The This Is Us star shared snaps of the stuffed animal that looked so realistic it was hard to believe it wasn’t a living pet.

Cuddle Clones, a company that makes customized replicas of actual pets, did a spectacular job capturing Joni’s sweet, animated face.

Joni passed away at the end of November following surgery to remove a mass on her liver. The beloved rescue pup was nearly 13 years old.

‘To know her, was to love her. She never met a stranger. She was waaaaay more human (or muppet) than dog. She loved ANYTHING she could eat, even if sometimes it was gross (cat poop). Seriously, she was a vacuum,’ Moore wrote in a tribute to her sweet canine companion.

‘She loved to give very stinky kisses. And I have no doubt she knew what an absolutely indispensable part of our lives and cherished soul she was…right until the end.’

‘My heart is utterly shattered. She was my first love and best friend. Through every twist and turn of life of this past decade and change, she was right there.

‘There’s a deep chasm of emptiness that will never be filled but I am so grateful for her sweet nature and the endless connection, compassion, responsibility, patience and devotion that the love of a pet can bring into your orbit.’

Meanwhile, Mandy and her husband Taylor Goldsmith are gearing up to become parents for the first time.

The happy couple, who’ve been married since 2018, announced her pregnancy in September.

This is the first child for them both, in spite of the fact that Moore plays mother to triplets on her hit NBC show This Is Us.

While several episodes of the program’s fifth season have already aired, producers have decided to put shooting on hold for the time being as Los Angeles is currently an epicenter of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
