MasterChef favourite Julie Goodwin has become a grandmother. 

The 50-year-old celebrity chef shared the ‘blessed’ news on Instagram on January 17, posting a sweet photo of herself cradling baby Delilah Marlene.

The mother of three, who won the first season of MasterChef Australia in 2009, wrote in the caption: ‘A brand new life. For all of us, I think.’

‘Welcome to the world baby Delilah Marlene. #grateful #blessed #grandparents,’ she added.

Julie did not specify in her post which of her sons – Joe, 24, Tom, 23, and Paddy, 21 – was Delilah’s father.

In the picture, Julie and her husband, Mick, look overjoyed as they carry the infant, who is wrapped in a pink swaddle.

Julie and Mick were flooded with well-wishes in the comments section.

‘Oohhh congrats guys!!!!!’ wrote Poh Ling Yeow, who placed runner-up to Julie in the first season of MasterChef.

It comes after Julie spoke about her decade-long struggle with her mental health.

In an interview with the Gold Coast Bulletin in October, she explained she’d been ‘really unwell’ when she checked into a mental health facility for five weeks in February 2020.

‘I could not find a single grain of energy or joy or anything. I was so worn down and I was physically really, really unwell,’ she said.
