Ellie Goulding wows in a HUGE  bouffant wig for New Love video

Ellie Goulding released the music video for her latest track New Love on Friday as she transformed into several characters.

The singer, 34, has collaborated with Mark Ronson and Diplo on the song for the duo’s side project Silk City. 

In the retro-styled video, Ellie oozes glamour as she wears a collection of huge and very voluminous blonde bouffant wigs.

For one look, the Halycon Days hitmaker opts for a turquoise sequin and pearl embellished dress with a plunging neckline.

Ellie commands attention on a stage as she sings to a crowd in front of a gold metallic tasselled curtain. 

The star is also joined by a pole dancer who wows in a gold lingerie ensemble while performing to the group in a separate area of the room.

Later in the video, Ellie switches her wig for a more curly style as she wears a white fluffy jacket to go through her wardrobe backstage.

At a different part, the singer transforms into a security guard as she rocks an androgynous look in a khaki suit and tie with her hair slicked back. 

With one moment seeing Ellie’s security guard flirt with her performing character on stage as they share eye contact.

The video also makes a playful nod at Silk City creators Mark Ronson and Diplo as their names can be seen on the ‘missing’ section of a milk carton. 

Ronson and Diplo launched Silk City back in 2018, with Dua Lipa collaborating with them on the hit Electricity. 

Ellie’s New Love single was released on Friday with the video debuting shortly afterwards.

Talking about the track, the singer said: ‘I’ve known Mark and Wes for years and it seemed only right to make a tune together, at a time where we all need to dance and be free, even if just in our kitchens.

‘The song is about losing yourself on your own, not needing to be seen, knowing that the one that got away could be just as happy as this too. The main concept is dancing on your own not needing to be seen.’ 

Ronson said of the single: ‘I love the music that comes out when Wes [Diplo] and I get together.

‘It has a joy to it that’s different from everything else I work on. I’ve known Ellie for over ten years, and it’s great to finally get to make something together. Her voice has such a pure tone that cuts through everything.’

With Diplo, real name Thomas Wesley Pentz, adding: ‘I’m always stoked to get back in the studio with Mark. We’ve been constantly trading ideas since the start of Silk City and finally found the time to bring some of them to life. 

‘We came out with this classic house record and Ellie was kind enough to lend her voice to it.’
