Dakota Johnson reveals she LIED about loving limes and is actually ‘mildly allergic’ to citrus fruit

Dakota Johnson admitted she told a lie during her Architectural Digest house tour last year on Tuesday night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

As the 31-year-old Fifty Shades of Grey actress reflected on giving a tour of her midcentury-modern home in March 2020, she confessed to fibbing about loving limes.

Despite emphatically professing her fondness for the fruit, which could be seen on her kitchen counter, she told the host that they actually make her ‘tongue itch.’

Not a fan of limes: Dakota Johnson admitted she told a lie during her Architectural Digest house tour last year on Tuesday night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

‘I’m actually allergic to limes. I’m mildly allergic to limes and honeydew melon,’ she told Fallon, 56, after he mentioned the footage of her stunning all-green kitchen.

She explained: ‘I actually didn’t even know they were in there. I was giving the tour and went into the kitchen and it was set dressing.’

After Fallon playfully grilling her about what prompted her to say she loved limes, the star said, ‘it was hard to just ignore them, so I just lied,’ and went ‘the full opposite direction’ of the truth.

‘Unbelievable,’ Fallon said with a laugh after he referred to the harmless deception as ‘bizarre’ a few times. ‘I’m glad you came clean.’

While showcasing her home for Architectural Digest, she specifically said, ‘I love limes, I love them. They’re great. I love them so much and I like to present them like this in my house.’

Since telling the truth, fans have been voicing their opinions about her admission on Twitter as many quip the lie is ‘the biggest plot twist of 2021’ so far.
