Gloria Hunniford says she is ‘a woman with hope’ after finally getting the coronavirus vaccine.
The veteran presenter, who at 80-years of age falls into one of the vaccination drive’s top tiers, confirmed she had received the jab while appearing on Thursday’s edition of Loose Women.
Addressing the panel, Gloria admitted having the vaccine has boosted her confidence and given her a positive outlook on what still remains a rather uncertain future.

She said: ‘You’re looking at a woman now with hope that I’ll have a little bit more security. I’ve always been for the vaccine and I’ve been boring all of you for weeks saying when am I going to get it, and yesterday was the day.
The presenter was also full of praise for the NHS staff responsible for treating her, adding: ‘The needle was in before I even knew it, the nurse was terrific and I feel really good.
‘I’m of the age where I lived through vaccines. In school we had TB etc, and I’m all for it. I just feel full of hope and I’m really glad I got it, I’m a happy girl today.’

Gloria admitted she was already looking ahead to her second dose in two months time, while slamming the minority who remain adamant that they won’t take it.
‘I do have to wait a couple of weeks before the immunity does begin,’ she said. ‘I was always for the vaccine and I don’t know why people are antivaxxers and say they won’t go to take it.
‘I get my second one in March… I think it’s good for the country, good for the world.’

More than four million UK residents have so far received the jab as the coronavirus vaccine program continues to roll-out across the country.
By January 19th a reported 4.61 million people had been given the jab, from 2.64 million the previous week.
This includes a record 343,000 who received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine in just one day, this also being January 19th.
It’s understood that the NHS plan to vaccinate as many as 15 million people by mid-February.
