Christian Wilkins enjoys a walk with his entertainment reporter father Richard in Sydney

He made a show-stopping appearance at the premiere of Naomi Watts’ new movie Penguin Bloom on Wednesday.

But just days earlier, Christian Wilkins had opted for a more low-key look while stepping out with his father, Channel Nine star Richard Wilkins, and a female friend in Sydney.

The 22-year-old socialite, who is usually known for his eccentric fashion sense, donned a casual ensemble as the trio enjoyed a stroll on Monday.

Christian wore a black singlet and matching shorts as he soaked up the sun.

He completed his look with a pair of yellow sneakers and a red baseball cap.

Meanwhile, Richard looked stylish in printed shorts, a blue button-up shirt and a pair of thongs.

The outing came two days before Christian made a fashion statement at the premiere of Penguin Bloom at the Westpac Open Air cinema on Wednesday.

He kept to his usual bold style by wearing a long-sleeve shirt with a peephole detail offering a glimpse of his chest.

He paired the shirt with striped pants and a pair of boots as he posed with his friend Gabriella Power before the screening.

Richard and his girlfriend, Nicola Dale, also beamed as they struck a number of poses on the red carpet.

The Weekend Today host wore a dapper black coat and a pair of tight jeans.

Meanwhile, Nicola opted for a fur coat, leather pants and low-shine black boots.
