During the first show, which airs on Thursday, a host of amazing scenes see the stars as you’ve never seen them before – including The Beast Mark doing his best Bond impression, Shaun looking hunky in trunks and Anne in a bikini.

On Thursday, the trio journey to America to test themselves against Kanzi, a Bonobo ape who is able to communicate with humans.

Kanzi uses a series of pictures and symbols on a Lexigram, and is also thought to be one of the first Apes to show an understanding of spoken English.

Anne, Mark and Shaun also meet a chimpanzee memory genius, a 25-year-old gamer orangutan called Katie and the genius of the ocean, the dolphin.

In between the escapades, fans will have their jaws dropping when they see Mark, who revealed last year that he had shed five stone in lockdown, emerging from the ocean in tiny trunks in a scene many fans will recall.

Appearing on Loose Women in August, the TV personality explained that he ‘never formally gave up any food’ but simply found he shed the pounds because he was having meals at home.

Detailing the dramatic weight loss, he admitted: ‘I think people are going to hate me, I’ve not been trying to lose weight, I’ve had the brush with this virus, and what’s been happening is I’ve not been going out.

‘My wife does shift work so I’ve been the primary carer… as my viewers will know, looking after a toddler, you don’t have time to eat!

‘I was 27 stone when I was diagnosed with diabetes, I was 23 stone at my last check up in March and hopefully I’ll be a bit lighter than that, but the main one is eating a bit more sensibly and I’m doing more exercises these days.’

Of how his eating habits have changed in lockdown, Mark went on to say he has started to eat less because he hasn’t ‘been that hungry’, which made him think that people ‘just get into the habit of eating lots.’

The Chaser’s Road Trip: Trains, Brains and Automobiles airs on Thursday 21st January 2021 at 9pm on ITV
