Danica McKellar shared the same quote with a long caption: ‘On this #MLK day, we will see many memes and quotes from this great leader.. but this morning I have been particularly interested in his quotes about loving our enemies, especially in a country so currently divided…Rather than just post a short quote, I found an excerpt from a sermon that gives a bit more context to some of the quotes you’ve seen about love. (Swipe to read it.)

‘Make no mistake about it, what he was calling for was so much more than the end of racism, which probably feels like something of a no-brainer to anyone reading this… even if you realize you haven’t quite nailed it, this feels like an obviously correct and do-able path, right?

‘But… Martin Luther King, Jr also challenged us to *love our enemies,* whoever they are. And that’s harder! Think about someone you consider to be an enemy – that person in your life or even someone you don’t know personally but who you feel the most truly injured by, hurt, angered. Now, forgive them. For real. Wish good things and a happy heart for them. For real. Love them. For real.

‘Now we begin to understand the journey he challenged us to pursue. ❤ #HappyMLKday.’

Tale Of Tails actress Blanca Blanco posted that her favorite quote from MLK Jr was, ‘Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?”‘
