Love Island’s Tayla Damir complains about people with bad spelling

She made headlines earlier this month by sensationally accusing popular Instagram account Celeb Spellcheck of ‘bullying’ influencers by correcting their poor spelling.

But Love Island Australia winner Tayla Damir, has apparently since changed her opinion on the importance of correcting others’ spelling.

Speaking to the Shameless podcast on Monday, the 23-year-old Instagram influencer revealed she takes pleasure in correcting poorly-spelled messages sent from online trolls.

Pot, kettle, black? Love Island’s Tayla Damir, 23, (pictured) has complained abou people with bad spelling – weeks after accusing a popular account of ‘bullying’ her by correcting her own typos

‘I don’t usually respond, but the ones that have so many spelling errors, I feel like it’s my human duty just to tell them,’ she mused.

‘If you’re going to send me a hate message, at least spell ‘you’re’ right!’ she added.

Tayla said she’d even received a ‘horribly spelled hate message’ the night prior, but decided not to retaliate.

‘So, I had just corrected all their spelling, and I thought it was the funniest thing in the world, and my dad was like, ‘Don’t respond to them, Tayla’,’ she shrugged.

Unsurprisingly, Tayla’s statements have since sparked the ire of Celeb Spellcheck – who famously poked fun at Tayla for misspelling the word ‘tournament’ earlier this month.

At the time, Tayla hit back at Celeb Spellcheck by penning an online rant – accusing  the account of ‘opening up the door for bullies.

'Swipe to listen to her hypocritically saying it's her 'human duty' to correct other people's spelling': However, it was a case of sweet revenge on Monday when Celeb Spellcheck reposted Tayla's Instagram rant as well as a clip from her new Shameless podcast interview

‘A few weeks ago, Tayla posted this in response to being featured on this page. I didn’t respond, but made the decision not to feature her again as she obviously didn’t appreciate it,’ Celeb Spellcheck wrote in the caption.

Whoops! Celeb Spellcheck completed the caption in a typically snarky fashion - by pointing out that Tayla had also mistakenly used the term 'wave link' instead of 'wave length' in her Instagram rant

‘Guess she’s not on the same ‘wave link’ anymore!’ they mused.

Tayla promptly retaliated, writing a lengthy rant on Instagram about cyber bullying and encouraging fans to think twice about following pages like Celeb Spellcheck.

‘I am all for a bit of a laugh and fun, but this account opens the door for straight up bullying,’ she wrote in a lengthy essay.

The former Miss Universe WA finalist also defended her spelling mistake, explaining that she is ‘slightly dyslexic’.
