Jackie O reveals she went to hospital after injuring herself while playing with her daughter

Radio star Jackie O Henderson has revealed that she has a broken rib and suffered a minor head injury after an incident while playing outside with her daughter Kitty while on holidays. 

The 45-year-old recalled the shocking moment she suffered a fall while trying to skateboard with her daughter, that led her to going to hospital after experiencing severe dizziness. 

Speaking on her KIIS FM radio show on Monday, The Kyle and Jackie O Show, the mother-of-one said her nine-year-old daughter even tried to call an ambulance to help her. 

‘She was skateboarding outside and we have stone on the floor,’ Jackie began, talking about her daughter zooming around outside on her new skateboard. 

‘I was watching her and she’s really good at it… she says to me, “why don’t you have a try, just try mum, I’ll hold your hand and drag you along.”

Jackie explained that Kitty let go and she lost her balance, causing her to topple over and land on her ribs. 

‘Just as we get to the end where there’s the glass fence, she lets go because she thinks “you’ve got this now,” Jackie said. 

‘As she lets go, I loose my balance completely… I land on my back rib and then on my head. I tipped backwards… I think I really went flying and I hit it so hard I was winded for about 45 seconds and I couldn’t talk to her…. it wasn’t bleeding but it was a bad hit,’ Jackie said. 

Jackie then said her daughter tried to call an ambulance and after watching so many American TV shows, accidentally dialled 911, which converts to triple zero in Australia. 

She said Kitty hung up when Jackie told her she was okay. 

But the next day, she got out of bed and almost fell over due to feeling incredibly dizzy, so she went to hospital as a precaution.  

‘I had to wait about three hours,’ she said, thinking if she had a serious problem they’d rush her into emergency. 

‘That’s when I knew I didn’t have a serious injury,’ she said.  

Jackie revealed that while hosting on air, she had a pillow on her lap to help her rib, which she is to hold close to her when laughing, coughing or moving. 

Jackie shares her daughter Kitty with her British photographer ex-husband, Lee Henderson. 

The pair announced their split in October 2018, after 18 years together.
