‘It will be extra magical’: Dancing On Ice star Hamish Gaman reveals he and fiancée Amelia Humfress are planning ‘dream winter wedding’ after COVID-19 lockdowns forced year-long delay
Dancing On Ice star Hamish Gaman has said he will still have his ‘dream winter wedding’, after having his initial marriage plans disrupted by the novel coronavirus.
In a new interview with Hello! magazine, the professional skater, 37, has revealed that he is now planning to marry his fiancée Amelia Humfress in December – a year after their initially planned wedding date.
‘We’ll still have our dream winter wedding,’ Hamish told the publication. ‘When it happens, it will be even more special and extra magical because we’ll be celebrating with all the family and friends we haven’t been able to see for so long.’

Bride-to-be Amelia added: ‘We’re both very excited and looking forward to it. Although it was disappointing that we had to postpone our wedding, I’ve been looking at pictures of bridal gowns to cheer myself up.
‘I already know the style of dress I want to wear, but won’t order it yet in case we have to change our plans again.’
The couple publicly announced their engagement in March, as the previous season of Dancing On Ice was drawing to a close.
Hamish added that Coronation Street star Faye Brookes, with whom he is paired in this year’s series of Dancing On Ice, is ‘wonderful’ and they are ‘having so much fun together’.

‘She was a bit like Bambi when we started out, with no skating experience whatsoever, but the best thing about Faye is that she’s full of beans and no matter what happens, she’s always smiling,’ he said.
‘When she falls over, she bounces up, brushes herself down and starts again. One of her falls was spectacular, like a Laurel and Hardy sketch, but Faye rolled with the punches and burst out laughing. That’s a typical day for us.’

In October, Dancing On Ice bosses confirmed Faye would be paired with pro skater Hamish for the competition.
In a post on their official Instagram page, the thespian and skating champion Hamish were described as the ‘next skating dream team’ as they posed together on the ice.
Several Dancing On Ice stars have been put though their paces by a team of professional skaters, including Winter Olympians Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean.
On Sunday’s season debut, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby once again returned as presenters, while Jane, Christopher, John Barrowman and Ashley Banjo resumed their roles as judges.
