Kyra Sedgwick recalls a ‘worst dressed’ red carpet moment from the ’90s with husband Kevin Bacon

Kyra Sedgwick has had some prime arm-candy in husband Kevin Bacon for more than 30 years.

And the Golden Globe winner has her fair share of date night horror stories to pull from in their more than three decades together.

She cringed while recalling a ‘worst dressed’ red carpet moment from the 1997 Golden Globe Awards with the father of her two children, during a recent interview with People.

The 55-year-old explained: ‘There’s a great picture of Kevin and me at the Golden Globes in, like, 19-something.’

The photo in question shows Bacon, 62, in a black velvet three-piece suit with a white shirt unbuttoned for a hint of chest hair, black loafers and orange-tinted clubmaster sunglasses.

Sedgwick accompanied him in a powder blue knee-length duster with shimmering silver pants, champagne open-toe heels and some gold and pearl jewels.

She added: ‘I had on this turquoise blue suit and he wore a crushed-velvet suit. We just kind of went wrong. I know that I made the worst dressed [list] that evening. I know it. And I think Kevin did too.’

It comes after the Closer star detailed another borderline disastrous date, which took place during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She told Jimmy Kimmel this week: ‘It became clear at one point to me, to both of us, that I needed a bikini line wax. Part of me was like, “How hard could it be?”

‘You know, I’ve watched these amazing ladies do it all these years, and like, I’ve always really appreciated them and appreciated their attention to detail, but I didn’t really think it would be that hard.’

Sedgwick enlisted her helpful husband for the job: ‘Kevin, is like, incredibly handy. Like he’s really good with a lot of things… So we both figured, “How hard could it be?”‘

Apparently, he had his work cut out for him, as she recalled of the ‘agonizing’ evening: ‘I’m not saying it was a disaster, but the fact that we did not have to go to the emergency room was just an absolute miracle.’

Still in love: But the couple has only grown closer during lockdown, as she mused: 'But the amazing thing is, and a surprise even to me, that like after 32 years, he always wakes up before I do in the morning and I come downstairs during this COVID time and I'm like, "How'd you sleep? How's your morning been so far?" And I really care. I really want to know'

Bacon gushed over his wife last month, as he reflected on their 32 years of marriage to ET Online: ‘Listen, putting into any kind of words 32 years of marriage is difficult, but she is the music.

‘And it speaks to music and how powerful that is. That feeling. I lucked out. Somehow I found the person that I’m meant to be with and I’ll never take that for granted.’
