Mars, Snickers and Twix launch new ‘handbag-size’ that’s less than 100 calories – but they still cost the same as a regular bar

  • Snickers, Twix and Mars have released 21g, 100 calorie versions of their treats
  • Treats are available across the UK for 40p or in multipacks of ten for £2.79 
  • They are the same recipe as the full size bars and Mars Wrigley say they don’t want to ‘compromise on taste’

Mars Wrigley has delighted fans by launching 100 calorie versions of their popular chocolate treats, meaning those on January health kicks can enjoys Snickers, Twix and Mars bars without ruining their diets.

The recipe for the snacks haven’t changed, but instead they have instead been released in smaller ‘handbag sizes at 21g.

The treats are available across the UK for 40p from all major retailers and also come in ten packs for £2.79.

Mars Wrigley has delighted fans by launching 100 calorie versions of their popular chocolate treats, meaning those on January health kicks can enjoys Snickers, Twix and Mars bars without ruining their diets

And for those indulging, the original size bars – which are around 50g –  will also stay on the market. 

The new treat is smaller than the snacksize bars currently on the market, that are 33g and 150 calories, and the standard multipack size which are around 40g.

Kerry Cavanaugh, Marketing Director at Mars Wrigley UK told FEMAIL the treat is perfect for those who have healthy eating intentions but want a small treat.

 ‘If you’re like me and love a sweet treat but are calorie conscious, these chocolate bars are for you!

‘Our new 100 calorie range gives people their favourite brands in a smaller size. 

‘Which is perfect for the 68 per cent of Brits who said recently that they would prefer less of their favourite chocolate than compromise on taste.’

This means that calorie conscious consumers will be able to treat themselves to the familiar nutty nougat of a Snickers, the snap of a Twix or the soft caramel haze of a Mars bar without splurging on calories.

While some fans called it a ‘game changer’ and the perfect Christmas treat, others  argued its a ‘freak of nature’.

The festive snack is filled with cinnamon and nutmeg are is available in the run up to Christmas.
