Jilted Farmer Wants A Wife star lifts lid on show’s filming secrets in fiery forewarning to reality TV hopefuls

Farmer Wants A Wife was rebooted by Channel Seven in 2020.

And marking a year from when filming began, farmer Nick Onassis’ jilted ‘winner’ Liz Jelléy has warned future reality TV hopefuls of what the show is REALLY like to film.

From constantly waiting around, 3AM filming wraps, wardrobe dramas, hot outback conditions and strange talking ‘bans’, the marriage celebrant said: ‘It was fun at the time, but I don’t recommend it.’

Liz’s was chosen as the ‘winning lady’ of farmer Nick ‘s heart, but their split was announced shortly after the Farmer Wants a Wife finale aired in August.

The brunette has since removed the FWAW Instagram account tag from her profile and seems to have a lot opinions about her time on the series.

The short clip uploaded on Wednesday saw Liz saying ‘hurry up and wait. Hurry up and be ready for 10am and then just sit around and wait’ with the hashtag: ‘farmer wants some strife.’

However, it was in the comment section where more behind-the-scenes secrets appeared to be spilled between Liz and her fellow cast mates.

Liz recalled ‘getting back to the accommodation at 3:30am’, hinting at lengthy night shoots for certain scenes.

‘Don’t forget when they had us out in the hot sun for hours and hours,’ she added, as most of the farmer’s farms were in remote locations.

Another star later chimed in ‘when we knew that “just one more take” meant another three hours walking up that driveway haha’.

Liz agreed, and added: ‘how good was it going on a date in separate cars and only being allowed to talk when the camera was on?’

She also said she often had to change outfits on the show to avoid similar looks to her co-stars.

Even farmer Sam Reitano bemoaned about ‘being told what to wear everyday and night’ by the production team.

However, on Tuesday he did reveal he was glad to have appeared on the show even if his ending wasn’t ideal.

‘I’m glad I did it, because I came out stronger as a person and yes I might of made channel 7 millions of dollars and found no wife and got rejected… but as I’ve been told good things come to those who wait. And it did,’ he began.

Sam added: ‘I worked hard and I found a beautiful wife [fiancée Katelen Cunningham] to be, and have a lil farmer being born in August.’
