Kevin Hart signs a massive four-movie first-look deal with Netflix to star and produce through his HartBeat Productions company

Kevin Hart is ringing in the new year by finding a new home at Netflix in a massive, four-picture deal that has put him in some lofty company.

The 41-year-old actor signed a four-movie first-look deal to both star in and produce through his HartBeat Productions company, via Deadline

While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, it’s said the streaming service’s last major commitment to a comedic actor was the $150 million, four-picture extension it signed with Adam Sandler.

Hart already has a well-established relationship with the streaming service, with his comedy special No F***s Given was their top comedy special of 2020, viewed by 21 million subscribers within the first four weeks of its release.

His films have grossed more than $4 billion at the box office, giving Netflix another big box office draw as many theaters still remain closed due to COVID-19.

Hart reacted to the news on Instagram, sharing a photo of the Deadline headline along with a brief statement to his 102 million followers.

Hart’s first project for Netflix, entitled True Story, will also mark his first time starring in a dramatic TV series, with Hart starring and producing with Eric Newman (Narcos).

The actor is currently filming The Man From Toronto with Woody Harrelson, with his new film Fatherhood slated for releases on April 16.
