Abbie Chatfield felt like an ‘inconvenience’ to Ash Williams on I’m A Celebrity after brutal scenes

I’m a Celebrity’s Abbie Chatfield SLAMS Ash Williams for making her feel like an ‘inconvenience’ when he dropped her to pursue Alli Simpson

I’m a Celebrity‘s Abbie Chatfield had her hopes of a jungle romance quashed when comedian Ash Williams decided new arrival Alli Simpson was ‘way more his type’.

Ash, 38, was mesmerised by singer Alli, 22, from the moment she entered the camp on Tuesday’s episode, despite having cuddled up in bed with Abbie, 25, just a few hours earlier.

After watching the love triangle unfold on TV, the former Bachelor star hit back on Instagram Stories, saying it hurt to ‘feel like I was spoken about as though I am an inconvenience – easily discarded.’

Discarded: I’m a Celebrity’s Abbie Chatfield has slammed co-star Ash Williams for making her feel like an ‘inconvenience’ when he dropped her to pursue Alli Simpson on Tuesday’s episode

Abbie was particularly upset to watch a private conversation that aired between Ash and co-star Grant Denyer in which the funnyman weighed up his options between the two women.

She said her self esteem had already been low after unsuccessful stints on The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise, and that seeing Ash reject her for someone else on TV was ‘a kick in the guts’.

‘You think your love life is bad – imagine consistently being second best on national TV,’ she said.

Despite admitting she was hurt, Abbie and Ash still follow each other on Instagram, and she clarified she had no issue whatsoever with Alli.

Ash had described Alli, who is the younger sister of musician Cody Simpson, as ‘mega cute’ during his private chat with Grant.

He added: ‘It is very tough because… in all seriousness she is way more my type.’

Grant burst into laughter, saying: ‘A mere six hours after someone left your bed?’

Ash later made a cruel joke at Abbie’s expense, saying she was ‘used to break-ups’ given her history on reality dating shows.

Afterwards, I’m a Celebrity host Julia Morris gave her two cents on the situation.

‘What I loved about that conversation was the unquestioned assumption that it is Ash’s choice to make – as though the romantic success with Abbie and Alli is just a foregone conclusion, and they have no choice in the matter whatsoever,’ she said.

Despite his interest, Alli didn’t seem to have any attraction towards Ash and later confirmed she was seeing someone outside of the show.

Earlier in the episode, Abbie had told Alli about her connection with Ash and the fact they’d cuddled in bed together the night before.

‘It was pouring rain last night and my bed was the only one that was getting wet,’ she said. ‘I was cuddling with Ash last night. Yeah, it was so nice. It was like head tickles and stuff. Affection.’
