In an interview with Byrdie, the To the Bone actress spoke further about the circumstances of her engagement and her relationship to McDowell.

Collins told the publication that she had felt like her fiancee was: ‘”The One” since the very beginning…All my friends joked with me at first. They’re like, “How can you know?” I’m like, “I know. I just know.”‘

She also elaborated on the fact that, ahead of the pair’s wedding day, she was anticipating the permanence of being with her husband, which she expressed enthusiasm about.

‘Honestly, I’m so excited to be a wife…To me, it’s more like, I can’t wait to be with this person, and now we get to plan something that we’ll have for the rest of our lives.’

The actress also spoke further about her work ethic as a performer and noted that although she oftentimes came off as consumed by her profession, she enjoyed the parts that she took on.

‘The fact that sometimes that gets a bad reputation of like, oh, you’re too focused on work. No, I find romanticism in my work and I really am passionate, and I love to do what I love to do,’ she said.

Collins also mentioned how taking on the title role in the Netflix program Emily In Paris helped to strengthen her for the onset of the global pandemic.

‘She has a steadfast, passionate way of being like, “Okay, I’m going to figure this out.” She almost subconsciously prepared me for what was coming…I think she filled a bank of optimism within me that I would then be able to cash out during COVID,’ she opined.
