Josie Gibson has revealed she will be taking a break from social media after she found herself ‘reading into all the negativity’ that is found online too often.

The This Morning presenter, 35, told fans on Twitter on Thursday that she would be taking some time away from her phone and online accounts for six days.

She tweeted: ‘Right I am off my phone and social until the 13th Jan so if I don’t reply I’m not being rude.

‘I just keep finding myself on my phone and reading into all the negativity and it’s not healthy for anyone.

‘I actually feel like Al I’m on my phone so much it’s disturbing. (sic)’

Following her announcement, fans later took to the social media platform to send her messages of support, with one responding: ‘Oh Josie please don’t let the keyboard warriors get to you. YOU are amazing and always make people laugh with your humour.

The TV star told MailOnline that she no longer feels ‘sexy’ and only sees herself as a ‘working mum’ now her body is at an ‘uncomfortable size’.

She explained: ‘I have obviously been big my whole life – I have always been one of those people that’s struggled with my weight.

‘In 2013 I lost weight and then I started putting it on again when I had my son in 2019 and it’s getting to a point now where I feel really, really uncomfortable. I feel uncomfortable with the size I am. I am a size 18.

‘I would like to be a comfortable 12 or a 12-14. I would be so happy with that. I have been a size 8. I don’t think it suits me and it’s a lot of work to get there so I just need to find that happy medium. A size 12 would be ideal.’

Josie, who is the new ambassador for weight loss brand WW, admitted her biggest vice is bread – but she hopes incorporating yoga as well as HITT training into her schedule will help to eliminate her unhealthy urges.

She said: ‘I remember feeling so fit and healthy and I had so much clarity and nothing was a chore. I have gone back to my old unhealthy eating habits.

‘Because I have got so big, I am really feeling it in my joints now. Yoga is going to be a big part of my journey. I was all about HITT before but now I’m going to have a blance with it all.’
