Eva Longoria opens up about her anxiety ahead of new movie Sylvie’s Love

‘Everything scares me, my anxiety is through the roof’: Eva Longoria has spoken about her intense desire to ‘do something’ worthwhile as a mother and public figure amid COVID-19

She’s known for her fiery role in Desperate Housewives.

But Hollywood actress Eva Longoria is returning to the small screen and she’s doing so with full force as she champions diversity in the new film, Sylvie’s Love.

While promoting the Amazon Prime TV movie in a new interview with The BINGE Guide, the 45-year-old has spoken about her daily struggles with anxiety.

‘One thing I never realised when I had my baby [son Santiago] was how anxious I would be about the world and everything that is happening in the news right now,’ she told the publication.

Eva, who shares her two-year-old son Santiago Enrique Bastón, with husband José Bastón, 52, claims she’s been overwhelmed with emotion amid the global coronavirus pandemic.

‘It’s made everything I do, especially my philanthropic and charity work, more intense. It’s like, “I have to do something!”‘

In recent years, Eva has used her fame to assist with charitable causes, whether it be promoting global gender equality movements like Time’s Up, or focusing on helping those in her community.

In 2010, she founded The Eva Longoria Fund (ELF), a fund which aims support hardship in children and the Latino-American community.

Marie Claire named Eva as one of the women revolutionising Hollywood in 2019 – as part of the Time’s Up Entertainment sector.

At the time she said ‘a story becomes significantly different when you fold in collaborators from all walks of life.’

Eva, whose acting career has spanned two decades, has always championed cultural diversity on screen. And her latest project is no different, as Sylvie’s Love centers around the romance of a black couple.

In fact, she told the publication she was so passionate about the film, she accepted her new role without even casting her eyes over the script.

‘You can’t keep tapping the same well for talent, in front and behind the camera. Innovation comes from diversity, from different perspectives and different storytellers. Hopefully, studios will start to wake up to that.’
