During a pre-Christmas episode of her show last month, Steph detailed the impact of online bullying and how it had personally affected her.

On the topic of Jesy Nelston’s departure from Little Mix, the host admitted she can relate to the singer’s tough journey in the spotlight as she’s experienced days where she ‘just sits and cries’ after being called ‘ugly, fat and thick’ by cruel trolls.

The broadcaster spoke to regular contributors Vogue Williams, Russell Kane and Anna Soubry as she revealed she attempts to combat the abuse by ‘training her brain’ to think about her loved ones.

On the topic of musician Jesy’s exit from the girl band for the sake of her mental health, the TV star said: ‘Do you know, I get it as well.

‘I always get told I look ugly or fat or whatever else. Or that you’re thick and people say, ”how can you possibly be intelligent with that voice?”. It’s ridiculous isn’t it?!

‘For a while at the beginning I used to read them all and sometimes I’d think about replying and then I thought – why am I bothering? – all the nice people I’m just ignoring.

‘Actually, you have to just train your brain to go they don’t know me, they’re not my friends or family – and so what – they’ve got something wrong in their life.’

Former MP Anna, 64, highlighted that others may not be able to cope with the torment as she interjected: ‘Not everyone can do that though.’

Confessing that she has her bad days, Steph responded: ‘No exactly and there are some days where I don’t, and I just sit and cry.’

Irish presenter and DJ Vogue, 35, also recalled when a vicious social media user called her five-month-old daughter Gigi an ‘ugly baby’.

The TV personality said: ‘I had a girl once, she sent the mail to the wrong person and she was calling Gigi [Vogue’s daughter] a really ugly baby to me.

‘And I said, ”you’ve just slagged off a three-month-old baby” and she said ”I’m really sorry, I was meant to send that to my friend. It’s just a joke we have about slagging people’s kids.”’ And I was like that’s not normal. I just think most of them need help.’
