‘There’s nothing wrong with the hair, the hair is looking great,’ he insisted, as re-reported by Nine’s Wide World of Sports, before revealing the inspiration behind his cap.

Shane said he first wore the cap when he played golf in the Cathedral Cup, explaining that there was a blue team and a red team.

He then showed off a red dog, which had been embroidered onto the back of his cap, for the red team.

But he said it was his love of the TV show, Peaky Blinders, which inspired him to keep wearing it long after the golf tournament had ended.

The British period drama stars Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy, and many of the characters wear flat caps.

‘We all played in the cap, I liked it, and I love Peaky Blinders so I thought I don’t mind the look of it and I might wear it to see if people like it and people have liked it, so I kept wearing it,’ he added.
