Lea Michele is opening up about her postpartum hair loss after the arrival of her son Ever in August 2020.
The five-month-old baby is the first child for Michele and husband Zandy Reich.
‘The postpartum hair loss is REAL, the 34-year-old singer and actress wrote along with a photo of her hair falling out into her hand that she posted on her Instagram Story on Wednesday, January 6.

The Glee alum also shared a photo of herself showcasing her long brown locks looking with a part in the middle as she prepares to potentially chop some of it off.
‘Enjoying this long hair while it lasts because the mom bob is right around the corner,’ she captioned the mirror selfie, dressed in white sweatpants and a sleeveless top.
The New York native also posted a close-up photo of her and her little one wearing matching gray-and-white pajamas on Wednesday.
‘New year … still matching,’ she wrote alongside the mother-son snap.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology Association, noticeable hair loss is completely normal for postpartum women a few months after giving birth. The excessive shedding, which is only temporary, is caused by falling estrogen levels.
Most women will see their hair return normal fullness by their child’s first birthday, or sometimes even sooner.
The Bronx, New York native confirmed her pregnancy in May, posting a snap of herself cradling her much-smaller baby bump.

Michele confirmed her son’s arrival on Instagram on August 26, sharing a photo of the couple holding Ever’s foot.
‘ForEver grateful for this true blessing,’ she captioned the snap.
The Brunette Bombshell author started dating Reich in July 2017 and were eventually wed in March 2019 in Napa, California.
