Jimmy Barnes beams with pride as he finally holds his fourteenth grandchild for the first time after being allowed to travel to Queensland
Australian rock legend Jimmy Barnes looked every bit the doting grandfather as he cradled his fourteenth grandchild, a boy named Kai.
On Wednesday, the 64-year-old shared a photo himself carrying the newborn, who was dressed in a blue stripped onesie.
Standing alongside the Flame Trees hitmaker was his equally proud son Jackie, 34, who is based in Queensland with is wife and their two daughters – Bella, seven, and Zoey, four.

‘So lucky to have been able to squeeze a visit to Queensland to meet Jackie James Barnes’ boy Kai,’ Jimmy wrote in the caption of his Instagram post.
‘Here we are three generations. Welcome to the world, welcome to the family, your Da loves you,’ he added.
NSW-based Jimmy and his wife Jane Mahoney travelled up north last month and caught up with their son and his family after months apart due to flight restrictions amid the Covid pandemic.

Little Kai is the rocker’s fourteenth grand child, Jimmy is also a great-grandfather to one.
The Scottish-born belter and his wife Jane have four children together who are all musicians – daughters Mahalia, 38 and EJ, 36, son Jackie, and youngest Elly-May, 31.
Jimmy also has three children from previous relationships, Today Extra host David Campbell, 47, as well as long-lost daughters Amanda Bennett and Megan Torzyn, who he met in 2010.

The Working Class Man singer has previously spoken about his family discovering Amanda and Megan were part of the clan.
He told New Idea: ‘My kids are all so great that when I found out there were a couple more, I felt they would be good people — and they’re lovely girls.’
‘My only regret is not knowing them when they were younger, but life is what it is and all things happen for a reason,’ he revealed.
‘At the time it was probably better for them that they didn’t know me, because I was pretty wild,’ Jimmy added.
