Ivanka and Jared are publicly shamed by sister-in-law Karlie Kloss

Karlie Kloss has publicly shamed Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner for refusing to accept Donald Trump‘s loss, while Tiffany is facing a backlash for being tone deaf after she wished Eric happy birthday in the middle of the siege on the US Capitol.

The supermodel, who is pregnant with her first child, tweeted Wednesday night that she has ‘tried’ to tell her sister- and brother-in-law that refusing to accept the results of ‘a legitimate democratic election’ and ‘inciting violence’ is ‘anti-American’.

Kloss had slammed the mob of Donald Trump supporters who violently broke into the Capitol in a siege where one woman was shot dead in a Twitter post Wednesday night.

‘Accepting the results of a legitimate democratic election is patriotic. Refusing to do so and inciting violence is anti-American,’ she tweeted around 9 p.m.

Her post sparked an instant rebuke from one social media user who fired back that she should: ‘Tell your sister in law and brother law.’

Kloss responded by telling them: ‘I’ve tried.’

Kloss is married to Josh Kushner, brother of Jared – Ivanka’s husband and Trump’s senior adviser – and son of Charles – the real estate tycoon who the president pardoned last week.

The supermodel’s comments came after Ivanka described the violent mob as ‘American Patriots’ before quickly deleting the tweet following a backlash.

Earlier Wednesday, Ivanka addressed the attack on the US Capitol by calling the mob ‘American Patriots’.

‘American Patriots – any security breach or disrespect to our law enforcement is unacceptable. The violence must stop immediately. Please be peaceful,’ she wrote as her father’s supporters stormed the Capitol.

She later deleted the tweet when outraged followers asked if she believed the attackers were ‘patriots’.

‘Clarifying, @IvankaTrump, you’re saying these people are ‘patriots’ ??’ asked a CNN reporter.

Ivanka replied: ‘Peaceful protest is patriotic. Violence is unacceptable and must be condemned in the strongest terms.’

Kloss and Josh have reportedly had something of a fraught relationship with Ivanka and Jared in recent years due to their political differences.

While Jared and Ivanka are some of Trump’s closest advisers, Kloss and Josh have been vocal about their support for the Democrats.

Back in October, Kloss wore a Joe Biden mask as she posed for a photo with her 2020 mail-in ballot.

Meanwhile the president’s other daughter Tiffany also came under fire for an ill-timed tweet as she send a birthday message to Eric Trump while the seat of government was plunged into lockdown.

‘Happy Birthday @erictrump I love you and I’m so grateful to always have you by my side!’ the president’s daughter tweeted Wednesday, just minutes before the 6 p.m. Washington DC curfew went into effect.

She also posted photos of herself with her brother, who turned 37, including one of the pair posing in front of the Washington Monument which was today the scene of unrest.

Social media users were quick to hit out at the president’s daughter, telling her to ‘read the room’.

‘Clearly haven’t spoken to your family or seen the news,’ one person tweeted.

Another simply told her to ‘read the room’ while someone else hit out saying: ‘Kind of a tone deaf and ill timed message isn’t it?’

Tiffany’s timing was perhaps all the more bizarre as she fired off the birthday message in between two tweets calling for peace.

‘Peace above all,’ she wrote around 4:30 p.m.

‘We have to have peace’ she then added at around 8 p.m.

Trump’s other children all fell uncharacteristically silent Wednesday evening as the unrest at the US Capitol rumbled on, despite the 6 p.m. curfew.

The president had finally told his mob of supporters to ‘go home’ in an address to the nation posted on Twitter around 5 p.m. – hours after several lawmakers urged him to tell his fans to stand down.

In the address, however, he continued to peddle the unfounded claims of widespread election fraud and told the violent mob he ‘love[d]’ them.

‘There’s never been a time like this where such a thing happened where they could take it away from all of us – from me, from you, from our country. This was a fraudulent election, but we can’t play into the hands of these people,’ he said.

‘We have to have peace. So, go home. We love you. You’re very special. You’ve seen what happens. You see the way others are treated that are so bad and so evil. I know how you feel. But go home and go home in peace,’ Trump said.

Meanwhile, birthday boy Eric also tweeted about his celebrations.

‘Never thought I would have 150,000 people sing me happy birthday on the National Mall in Washington D.C!’  he wrote alongside a photo of him at Wednesday’s rally.

When things turned violent, he then tweeted calling for ‘law and order’.

‘We are the party of Law & Order – prosecute anyone who crosses that line to the fullest extent of the law,’ he wrote.

His brother Donald Trump Jr. urged his father’s fans to ‘be peaceful’ – hours after he appeared to threaten Republican lawmakers at the rally.

‘This is wrong and not who we are. Be peaceful and use your 1st Amendment rights, but don’t start acting like the other side. We have a country to save and this doesn’t help anyone,’ he tweeted in the afternoon.

This came after Trump Jr. had warned GOP lawmakers that the Trump family would continue to fight the results of the election.

‘These guys better fight for Trump. Because if they’re not, guess what? I’m going to be in your backyard in a couple of months!’ he told the crowd.

Hr also thanked the ‘red-blooded, patriotic Americans’ in the crowd ‘for standing up to the bulls**’ and an expletive-filled rant riling up the crowd.

MAGA supporters stormed inside the Capitol and violently clashed with police in a bid to stop Joe Biden’s victory being certified, causing lawmakers to take cover and flee to an undisclosed location for safety while the building went into lockdown.

One female Trump supporter, identified as US Air Force veteran Ashli Babbit of San Diego, died after being shot in the chest.

It was not immediately clear who shot the woman and an investigation is ongoing.

Dozens of police were also reportedly injured and at least one pipe bomb was found on the grounds.

Several Trump supporters posed for photos at the Senate dais moments after Vice President Mike Pence delivered his rebuke to Donald Trump there while others broke into Nancy Pelosi’s office, with one man later boasting about looting an envelope from the House Speaker’s desk.

President-elect Joe Biden addressed the nation in a speech telling the ‘mob to pull back’ and urging Trump to tell his fans to stop the violence and leave the Capitol building.

This came just hours after he held a rally where he had encouraged his supporters to march to the Capitol in protest at the certification of Biden’s win and where his personal attorney and the man who spearheaded his failed election legal battle – Rudy Giuliani – told supporters to pursue a ‘trial by combat’.

The National Guard was deployed to help police enforce a 6pm curfew in Washington DC to stem the violence and the building was briefly secured.

Another lockdown was issued in the evening due to an ‘internal security threat’ after an officer was reportedly found unconscious.

At around 8pm lawmakers flanked by armed guards began arriving back at the Capitol to resume the Joint Session to certify the Electoral College count of the presidential election.

Vice President Mike Pence condemned the violent siege as he reopened the Senate telling the perpetrators ‘violence never wins. Freedom wins. And this is still the people’s house.’
