It was announced last month that Rachel McAdams will reprise her role as Dr. Christine Palmer in the upcoming sequel.

Benedict Wong and Chiwetel Ejiofor will also return to their roles as, respectively, Strange’s fellow sorcerer Wong and Strange’s ally-turned-enemy Karl Mordo.

The film will be directed by Sam Raimi of Spider-Man fame following the departure of Scott Derrickson in January last year due to creative differences.

Scott addressed his departure in December, saying he made the difficult decision because he didn’t want to be ‘at the end of somebody else’s movie’ again.

The film was originally meant to start shooting in May, shortly after the third Spider-Man film, featuring Tom Holland, wrapped up filming.
