‘I can’t pretend everything’s perfect when it’s not’: Cara De La Hoyde says the third lockdown has ‘really got to her’ and she’s putting on a ‘brave face’ for her two children

Cara De La Hoyde has admitted that the third national lockdown has ‘really got to her’ in a new candid Instagram post on Thursday.

The former Love Island star, 30, said that she ‘can’t pretend everything’s perfect when it’s not’ and that she is putting on a ‘brave face’ for her two children – Freddie, three, and Delilah, six months, who she shares with husband Nathan Massey.

The lockdown in England, which includes a strict stay at home message and the closure of all schools, is due to be reviewed in the middle of February but the regulations will actually last in law until the end of March.

She penned: ‘You all know I’m one to show you my reality. This lockdown has really gotten to me, it feels like there is no light at the end of the tunnel right now.

‘But when these 2 are depending on we have to put on a brave face and get through the day.  Ino that’s how a lot of parents out there are feeling right now.

‘But we’ll get there and I’m taking these days and trying to cherish this time because very soon we will be busy rushing round back to normal life and craving this family time we’re forgetting to enjoy ❤️’

Cara then apologised for not being ‘active’ or ‘flashy’ on her Instagram, she added: ‘Sorry Iv not been active or flashy on here but I can’t pretend everything’s perfect when it’s not, and I think most of you appreciate the real ness ✌

‘Thanks for letting me be me never hardly dolled up and being a winging it mum, and appreciating me for it we’re in this together!’

At the end of last year, Cara and her husband Nathan, 31, appeared on Love Island: What Happened Next, to discuss their journey since leaving the dating show together as winners five years ago.

The couple, who tied the knot last summer, discovered they were expecting their first child, Freddie, three, nine months after winning the show, but decided to go their separate ways shortly after.

Nathan blamed their brief split on himself, as he revealed he got caught up on the wild party lifestyle after coming out of the villa and admitted he should have taken more time to cultivate his relationship with Cara.

He said: ‘We split up nine months in, I take responsibility, I got caught into the whirlwind of being a party boy.’

While Cara mused: ‘We split up just after I find out I was pregnant. We went to all the scans together and we spent a lot of time together. Splitting up is the best thing that could have happened to us.’

Nathan took Cara back to the villa where they first met in order to propose to her, as he admitted it was a costly experience in order to make the moment special.

He said: ‘It cost me an arm and a leg, but you’re only going to do it once hopefully!’ In July, the couple welcomed their second child, a daughter called Delilah.
