Pettifleur Berenger says a fermented duck egg reminds her of Janet Roach on I’m A Celebrity

Pettifleur Berenger endured her first eating challenge on Wednesday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Just a day after heading into the jungle, the 56-year-old Real Housewives of Melbourne star was forced to swallow things like fermented duck egg and beachworms. 

And in a cheeky jibe at one of her former co-stars, Pettifleur admitted the fermented duck egg reminded her of Janet Roach.   

Eyeing off the speckled black egg placed in front of her, a cautious Pettifleur confessed: ‘Oh, I didn’t expect that.’

Pettifleur said she thought the egg would be ‘crispy’, like an ‘Easter egg’, only to discover it was actually ‘cold and jelly-like’.  

‘Oh… It smells nasty, and it tastes even nastier!’ she said after taking a bite of the revolting egg.

As she continued to devour it, Pettifleur began to gag, while making a series of disgusted faces as she struggled to keep it down.

She was then asked which of the Housewives the egg reminded her of, and without hesitating, Pettifleur responded: ‘Janet.’

The two women were known for being frienemies, with Janet telling the Herald Sun in May 2017 that Pettifleur was fired from The Real Housewives.

Pettifleur initially claimed she had quit the hit reality show, but Janet, 62, insisted that wasn’t the case.  

‘Pettifleur is naughty to say she resigned. I am actually heartbroken for her. I have it on really, really good authority that she was devastated,’ said Janet.

‘But the fact is, we knew she wasn’t coming back, because we already had our contracts and she didn’t.’
