Speaking of learning to adapt well in the face of trauma and tragedy, the Roar singer suggested verbalizing resilience until ‘you actually become resilient.’

‘I’ve always believed words have ✨energy✨ Start by telling yourself you’re #RESILIENT, and you just might believe yourself,’ she wrote in her caption.

In the brief video, Perry rocked a bold red lipstick, which matched her hoodie and the background behind her as she held onto her beloved teacup Poodle.

Her glamorous makeup highlighted her flawless complexion, bold brows and long eyelashes on set.

Meanwhile, her short bright blonde tresses were worn in a stylish low ponytail.

Later, she changed out her red hoodie and gold hoop earrings into a pair of black and white polka-dot pajamas as she posed in bed for a Coca-Cola advertisement.

On the fifth track of her sixth studio album Smile she croons about not letting ‘the concrete hold’ her back and climbing higher ‘the harder the wind blows.’

‘Do you know the darker the night, the brighter the stars glow?’ she sings in the powerful ballad.

The new mom, who welcomed her baby girl Dove with fiancé Orlando Bloom four months ago, has been open about her mental health and her past depression battle.

In August, she spoke of suffering from depression during her Witness tour following the poor critical and commercial reception of her fifth studio album in 2017.

Talking to The Guardian, she said: ‘Nothing, no opportunity, no person could inspire me to get out of bed. My depression showed up in lethargy, in lack of interest. Like, now I just don’t care about anything. A-ny-thing. And don’t look forward to anything.’

Katy revealed that she spent a week at the Hoffman Institute, which is billed as an effective treatment for depression, anger and anxiety, in addition to likening her negative behaviors that she wanted to address as a ‘Mary Poppins’ bag’.

The star also referenced the moment in her 2012 documentary Katy Perry: Part of Me where she shed tears before performing on stage following the end of her marriage to Russell Brand.

Katy added that she has now learnt to ‘compartmentalize’ and that you have to put your ‘personal life away for two hours’ while performing, joking that she provides a ‘Disneyland service.’

She said: ‘I have learned how to compartmentalise and how to be a performer. You put your personal life away for two hours and realise that people are paying with their time and money to come and see the jester, to escape their own stuff.’

Katy also addressed former backlash after being accused of ‘cultural appropriation’ several times in her career.

The star came under fire in 2013 after she dressed as a Geisha for the American Music Awards and, in the same year, was heavily criticized for wearing cornrows in her hair for the This is How We Do video.

Katy, who has been in therapy since she was 25, told the newspaper that it came from a ‘juvenile lack of education’ and she is now more evolved as a human being.

She said: ‘But there is definitely not a whole lot of empathy or compassion towards people sometimes growing – or trying to f**king grow – in the spotlight. Because growth also means failing. And I’ve done a lot of falling flat on my face.’

Previously, she revealed she once feared she ‘wouldn’t live to see 2018’ after hitting rock bottom amid her hard-fought battle with depression.

She told the Sunday Times: ‘I got very clinically depressed. I had always been able to skirt the issue. I was on something that my psychologist at the time recommended. It changes the chemistry of your mind. Sometimes people need a pharmaceutical crutch.

‘You are never going to change someone as much as you want to change them. I had to make the choice [to change myself] after hitting rock bottom. I had no choice but to go on this emotional, spiritual, psychological journey or I probably wouldn’t live to see 2018… I tried medication and that was really intense,’ Perry recalled.

Since becoming a mother, the Chained To The Rhythm hitmaker appears happier than ever as she and her man are reportedly ‘obsessed’ with their little girl.
