‘I don’t have to agree with everything to be someone’s friend’: Colin Fassnidge talks about his friendship with disgraced chef Pete Evans after taking his place on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

On Wednesday night, Colin Fassnidge became the latest intruder to enter the jungle on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

And on Thursday, the 45-year-old celebrity chef addressed his friendship with Pete Evans, who he replaced on the Channel 10 series.

The Plate of Origin judge told The Daily Telegraph’s Confidential Pete wished him well, prior to entering the show.

‘He wished me well with this. I have known Pete for 10 years, we are friends, we used to live near each other,’ he said.

‘We don’t have to agree with each other’s views, that is what a friendship with someone is. But as a person, I think he is a nice guy.’

Colin was contacted by Channel Ten to appear on the latest season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! after Pete shared a cartoon on social media, which had an image of the Black Sun symbol from Nazi Germany on it.

The 48-year-old also sparked outrage last year for his conspiracy theories surrounding the coronavirus pandemic and vaccines.

Despite this, Colin was adamant the pair were friends and told the publication he did not have to agree with somebody to be friends with them.

‘I don’t have to agree with everything to be someone’s friend. You are not going to work with a guy for 10 years and not like them,’ he said.

On Wednesday night’s episode, Colin entered the camp in a strange clown challenge, which proved to be difficult for campmates Abbie Chatfield and Toni Pearen, who had to free him from being handcuffed to a clown car.

The pair had to chase a scary looking clown into a room full of balloons – and pop their way through with a knitting needle to find the joker, who had the key to free Colin.

After being taunted by two other terrifying clowns, Abbie and Toni managed to retrieve the key and successfully free him, and he later joined the green team.

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! continues Thursday at 7.30pm on 10
