Ruby Tuesday Matthews blasts radio host Lawrence Mooney

Instagram star Ruby Tuesday Matthews has hit back at Triple M host Lawrence Mooney after he roasted her in a brutal radio segment about influencers.

The Byron Bay model, 27, was left fuming on Wednesday after she came across a  video of Lawrence, 55, referring to social media influencers as ‘low-hanging fruit’ who ‘prostitute themselves online for free products’.

Lawrence also made special mention of Ruby, who was infamously branded ‘entitled’ for holding up a Jetstar flight to eat oysters in October last year.

‘This bird can go and get shucked!’ Lawrence joked, referring to Ruby’s ‘oystergate’ scandal.

A seething Ruby lashed out at Lawrence on Instagram Stories, uploading a photo of the comedian with a pig emoji covering his face.

‘Someone just sent me this and I’m utterly gobsmacked. It really does go to show how low the human race is,’ she wrote.

‘If all you can do is completely right [sic] off a single mum to make a segment, what do you really have going for yourself and your D grade radio show.’

Ruby then insisted she doesn’t promote brands in exchange for freebies.

‘To say I prostitute myself out for products, it’s a complete lie. I actually get paid lol! To call me low hanging fruit and say I “w**re myself out” is a disgusting comment to make about anyone, let alone a mother of two small boys,’ she raged.

The mother of two concluded by calling Lawrence an ‘a**hole’, and encouraged her fans to retaliate by leaving comments on his Instagram account.

‘You picked the wrong b**ch,’ she signed off.

Ruby made headlines in October when she delayed a Jetstar flight because she was busy eating oysters at a restaurant located outside the terminal.

Ruby was due to fly from Byron Bay to Sydney on a 5pm flight, but a technical issue caused the plane, flight JQ461, to be delayed.

The budget airline asked travellers to stay put while waiting for an engineer, and told passengers the new departure time would likely be about 7.30pm.

But Ruby and her travel companion left the airport to grab a bite to eat at a beachside restaurant, leaving passengers waiting on the tarmac for 30 minutes for the pair to return.

Ruby was then heckled by passengers after they eventually boarded the plane, before slamming the airline upon arrival in Sydney for allowing her to be ‘bullied’.

Another woman boarded the plane even later than Ruby, and immediately apologised to passengers who had been told not to make any comments to her.

Jetstar released a statement on Tuesday saying they ‘kept customers informed’ throughout the delay, and asked them ‘not to leave the airport should the flight be able to get away ahead of the revised time.’

Ruby claimed there were a number of other passengers who left the airport and arrived after the rescheduled departure time.

‘It’s just crazy now,’ the mother-of-two said following the airline’s response.

‘This is so minor this s***. I actually think it’s a joke and it’s annoying that it has to waste so much of my time.

‘Jetstar made a complete joke of themselves. They let that harassment happen,’ she said during an Instagram Live video.
