Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio get back to work on the Downtown Boston set of Don’t Look Up

Jennifer Lawrence is seen on the Boston set of Don’t Look Up with Leonardo DiCaprio for the first time in weeks after a long holiday break

Academy Award winners Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio were spotted returning to work on the Downtown Boston set of the upcoming film Don’t Look Up on Monday after several weeks off.

The 30-year-old actress had beet red hair as she appeared to pull her cast mate Himesh Patel out of the street as he attempted to walk into the middle of traffic.

A bearded DiCaprio, 46, was seen standing with a set of luggage as he was took a phone call during the shot.

Dressed down: She wore a bomber jacket and cuffed black jeans for her scene

The Academy Award-winning actress was pictured wearing a green bomber jacket on top of a pair of black cuffed jeans and matching boots.

She also allowed her dyed red hair to fall down onto her shoulders for the shoot.

DiCaprio appeared dressed in much more casual attire as he wore an olive green sports coat and a plaid shirt above a set of blue jeans and grey New Balance sneakers.

The actor could be seen wearing a pair of glasses and kept his hairstyle neat during shooting.

The film is being directed by Adam McKay, who also helmed features such as The Big Short, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, among others.

The film reportedly follows two astronomers who embark on a high-profile media tour to warn humankind of a rapidly approaching asteroid that is set on a collision course with Earth.

Don’t Look Up will also feature a large ensemble cast which includes Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill and Cate Blanchett in main roles.

Also featuring in the film will be Ariana Grande, Tyler Perry and Rob Morgan among various other actors and actresses.

The project was first announced in 2019 and was originally set to be distributed by Paramount Pictures before Netflix acquired the rights to the film the following year.

In addition to directing the picture, McKay has also written its screenplay and serves as one of its producers. 

Principal photography on the feature was slated to begin in April of last year before the onset of the global pandemic forced a delay in production.

After months of inaction, filming finally commenced in late November in and around the Boston metropolitan area. 

The project initially had a planned release date for sometime in 2020, but the circumstances forced on the production by the onset of COVID-19 prevented that from occurring. 

Don’t Look Up currently has no scheduled release date.
