AFL star Max Gawn has sold his townhouse in Bentleigh East, Melbourne, for a cool $945,000.

The sales contract for the property was digitally signed on Christmas Eve, while the 29-year-old was on holiday in Queensland, Realestate.com.au reports.

The two-bedroom, two-bathroom home was listed for private sale for $899,000, after it failed to sell at auction earlier in December.

But negotiations between the Melbourne captain and local buyers proved to be more fruitful, with the home selling for above the asking price.

Gawn has earned himself a tidy profit of $255,000, after paying $690,000 for the townhouse in 2014.

The first floor of the home has a spacious living room that flows into a combined kitchen and dining area.

‘I got sick of looking at the garden so I did some work on that,’ the footy star told the Herald Sun last month.

The second floor features an ample-sized second bedroom, a study and a shared bathroom with a spa.
