They both wore pale blue surgical masks as they carried their luggage inside, with Steve clutching a pillow under one arm.

The former cricket captain was dressed in his uniform, and wore a green and white baseball cap pulled low over his face.

Meanwhile, Dani stepped out in a grey check blazer, which she paired with a white T-shirt, and her long blonde hair was worn loose.

The couple were forced to spend Christmas apart following Sydney’s coronavirus outbreak, but were able to reunite in time for New Year’s Eve.

The upcoming cricket match on Thursday has attracted plenty of controversy, with some calling for it to be cancelled in the wake of Sydney’s COVID outbreak.

But the scheduled match has been allowed to proceed, before the team will be forced into quarantine ahead of the fourth test match in Queensland.

Crowds for the third test match will only be at 25 per cent capacity, with about 10,000 people allowed into the Sydney Cricket Ground per day.

According to a report by the ABC on Monday, fans who bought tickets under the original 50 per cent capacity will now be refunded, with a reduced number of tickets re-released.

‘We’ve had 150,000 people through the SCG in the last nine months, not a single transmission,’ said SCG chairman Tony Shepherd.
