Grant Denyer admits he failed to recognise Jack Vidgen on I’m A Celebrity

Jack Vidgen has undergone a remarkable physical transformation since first debuting on reality television on Australia’s Got Talent back in 2011.

And on Sunday’s premiere of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Grant Denyer, who hosted the talent show at the time, failed to recognise the 23-year-old singer.

In a piece to camera, Grant, 43, described Jack as ‘cute’ and like a ‘human Ken Doll’.

‘He’s like a human Ken Doll!’ Grant Denyer (pictured), 43, admitted he failed to RECOGNISE Jack Vidgen on I’m A Celebrity’s premiere on Sunday – despite hosting Australia’s Got Talent the year he won

After greeting one another in the jungle, Grant admitted: ‘Don’t tell him, but I didn’t recognise that it was Jack.

‘I saw him when he was a kid, when he won Australia’s Got Talent. I read out his name as the announcement.’

Grant then appeared to throw shade at Jack, adding: ‘He’s all grown up. Yeah. He’s like a human Ken Doll. He’s cute.’

Grant said of Jack (pictured), 23, in a piece to camera: 'Don't tell him, but I didn't recognise that it was Jack,' going on to add: 'He's all grown up. Yeah. He's like a human Ken Doll. He's cute'

However, not all viewers were sold on Grant starring on the show, with one posting on Twitter: ‘Grant Denyer…. sigh.’

Another said: ‘I’m over Grant already well and truly,’ while one also posted: ‘GRANT you’re not the centre of attention on this show! Pipe down mate! Already sick of him.’

Jack, who has previously admitted to having lip fillers and Botox, told Daily Mail Australia last year that he’s found ‘security’ and ‘confidence’ after getting the enhancements.

Jack made the comments while speaking about his song I Am King I Am Queen, which inspires fans to be who they want to be and to accept themselves.

‘I think everyone has their own journey in finding security and confidence and that’s the message in the song,’ Jack said.

‘No matter what that looks like, it looks different to different people.’

The lyrics of the track include: ‘Some days I hate me, some days I love me, some days the sun shines so bright I can barely see.’

It continues: ‘I cry to my mother, sometimes the world seems so mean, then I remember, I am king, I am queen.’

In May 2019, Jack admitted to getting lip fillers and said he had finally found happiness in himself.

‘I’ve had filler done [in my lips],’ the star told The Kyle & Jackie O Show at the time, when asked about the changes he’s made to his face.

‘I had an insecurity with my lips and I had the opportunity to not be insecure anymore and I did that and I’m happy.’
