Ash Williams and Abbie Chatfield’s VERY awkward meeting on I’m A Celebrity

Ash Williams and Abbie Chatfield have a VERY awkward exchange on I’m A Celebrity’s premiere episode… as the comedian reveals he was left on ‘seen’ after ‘DM’ing’ the reality star

Comedian Ash Williams and reality star Abbie Chatfield entered the I’m A Celebrity jungle on Sunday night’s premiere episode.

And their introduction was certainly awkward when Ash announced to Abbie that he was left on ‘seen’ after ‘DM’ing’ (direct messaging) her on Instagram following her time on The Bachelor.

While Abbie appeared lost for words, a smiling Ash insisted that the rejection was okay.

During their introduction, Ash told Abbie that he was already aware of who she was.

‘Yeah, yeah. I DM’d you a while ago,’ he said, as he greeted Abbie in a suave suit.

Lost for words, a visibly shocked Abbie, who dressed to impress in a plunging floral frock, eventually responded with ‘Oh… was it anything nefarious? I often get pictures when I get DM’d.’

‘I think you saw it. It said ‘seen’. But it’s okay,’ Ash went on to say, before adding that Abbie has yet to respond.

‘No, you were busy. You just got off The Bachelor. It’s all good,’ Ash insisted.

Abbie, 25, starred on Matt Agnew’s season of The Bachelor in 2019, where she placed runner-up behind Chelsie McLeod.

The blonde beauty went on to star in last year’s season of spin-off Bachelor in Paradise, but did not find a lasting connection.

Abbie was last linked to former Channel [V] presenter Danny Clayton, 35, after they were spotted looking cozy together at a friend’s wedding last month.

She has since squashed rumours the pair are dating – taking to Instagram to insist they are just friends.

While she’s very much single, Abbie did tell The Daily Telegraph’s Body+Soul magazine last month that she’s ready to ‘settle down’.

‘I just want to settle down and not have such a crazy love life,’ she told the publication.

‘I’d like to meet a stable guy who’s either a Taurian, Libran, Leo or Sagittarian; definitely not a Capricorn.’

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues Monday at 7.30pm on Ten
