Chloe Bennet reveals she tested positive for coronavirus and is battling severe symptoms

Chloe Bennet revealed she tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday, after waking up on Christmas morning with a ‘a high fever, and unable to breath.’

As the 28-year-old Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star announced her diagnosis via Instagram Story, she noted that several of her relatives are also battling the virus.  

‘I got tested, and I’m positive for COVID-19 … it’s been a rough week to say the least. Multiple members of my family are also infected, we’ve all been battling it out together. We’re still not in the clear, but as of now we’re doing…okay,’ she revealed.

She continued: ‘I’m sharing this because I want to iterate to anyone who still may not be taking covid seriously, please please please f**king do. Covid sucks. It just really sucks. I pride myself on staying healthy, I always wore a mask, social distanced, and took all the necessary precautions and I still got VERY sick.’ 

Despite enduring severe symptoms and exhaustion, she reminded her more than 2.6 million followers that she is ‘one of the lucky ones.’ 

‘I’m young, healthy, and diligent about my health and this virus still knocked me the f**ck down and continues to do so. Even trying to just write this out is proving to be exhausting,’ she emphasized.

Bennet, then, reminded ‘anyone whose reading this’ that despite the end of 2020, the ‘pandemic is still raging on.’ 

‘Stay distant, stay safe, wear a mask, the actress concluded. ‘On that note, I love you guys, stay healthy, and happy (almost) new year. X CB. P.S. f**k you 2020, I can’t wait to not be in you.’ 

Additionally, the beauty also shared a snap of herself wearing a beanie and looking tired as she pressed one hand on her cheek and called 2020 a ‘little f**kin weirdo.’

Previously, the Asian-American actress and singer has opened up about her struggle to find suitable roles in Hollywood because of her mixed-race heritage.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph in September 2019, Bennet said: ‘Every audition had to do with my race, I was exhausted by how much I was boxed in.’

The actress, who’s real name is Chloe Wang, was born to Chinese father Bennet Wang and caucasian mother Stephanie Crane.

Struggling to get auditions, she changed her stage surname to her father’s first name Bennet in an effort to catch a break.

‘I’m still Chloe Wang, all that changed is people’s perception of me. I was booked the first audition I went on after I changed my name,’ the actress said.

The actress explained that it ‘infuriated’ her that she even had to change her name, because she is proud of her Asian heritage.

‘In Chinese culture, your father’s last name is really tied in with respect and honor,’ Chloe said. 

Prior to landing the starring role in Dreamworks’ animated film Abominable, Chloe has played Daisy Johnson in Marvel TV series Agents Of S.H.I.E. L. D since 2013.
