Meghan McCain reveals she’s returning as cohost of The View on Monday: ‘Did I miss anything while on maternity leave?!?’
She frequently found herself in the hot seat amid various controversial debates on her morning talk show.
And on Wednesday, Meghan McCain announced her return to The View after going on maternity leave to have her daughter Liberty.
The 36-year-old daughter of late Republican politician John McCain took to Twitter to announce the move, writing, ‘It’s almost time…I’m so excited to take my spot as the conservative seat back at the Hot Topics table (virtually) @TheView on Monday!

‘Did I miss anything while on maternity leave?!?’ she added.
To keep things playful, McCain added a gif of Christina Aguilera on The Voice with the caption ‘Momma came to play.’
Meghan left her hosting duties on the ABC show, cohosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro, in late summer ahead of the birth of her daughter in September.

There was much speculation that the conservative pundit would not be coming back to the show, as she frequently got into a heated and sometimes bitter debates with the other talking heads on the program.
There were even reports that all the other hosts had stopped talking to Meghan behind the scenes.
But she commented directly on the matter in August, leaving no doubt as to her intention to come back.

‘Why does everyone ask me if I’m getting fired or quitting every 20 seconds?’ McCain said on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. No other host has to deal with this BS. Yes I’m coming back. It’s an election cycle.’
Like all other shows, The View has had to change its format considerably this year in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
Episodes have been filmed virtually for much of the year, but the twitter account for the show itself announced McCain will be in the actual studio on Monday ‘when @TheView returns LIVE for our first show of 2021!’

McCain gave birth to Liberty Sage, her first child, on September 28th with her husband Ben Domenech.
The pair have been wed since 2017.
