Love Island Australia star Shelby Mills FLIPS a golf buggy while celebrating New Year’s Eve on Hamilton Island – as her friends are treated for injuries
Former Love Island Australia star Shelby Mills was involved in a bizarre vehicle accident on New Year’s Eve.
On Thursday afternoon, the 27-year-old flipped a golf buggy on Queensland‘s Hamilton Island, injuring two female friends.
She documented the aftermath of the crash as she joined her friends in the ambulance on their way to the hospital.

Golf buggies are a primary mode of transport on Hamilton Island, and most are fitted with a capped speed for safety.
‘We were going up a hill and I turned a corner and it flipped. I wasn’t being reckless,’ Shelby assured fans.
Just hours earlier, she’d shared a sizzling mirror selfie and also joked on Instagram Stories that she was ‘coming in hot’ to the Whitsundays.

But her social media updates took a serious turn when she posted footage of her friend Chloe strapped to a stretcher in the back of an ambulance.

The trio were taken to a nearby medical facility, where Shelby’s injured pals were treated by doctors.
‘I’m so sorry,’ Shelby said over and over again.

Chloe was given a cast for her foot and was later shown walking out of the clinic with the help of crutches.
‘Shelby accidentally flipped the buggy and my foot was crushed by the buggy. Just in a temp[orary] cast and when I get home see what damage was done. I’m all okay,’ Chloe said of the accident.
Footage recorded by Ashleigh just before the incident showed Shelby wearing her seat belt alongside four other passengers.

The free-spirited blonde later joked her friends had ‘banned’ her from driving.
However, Shelby later returned to her Instagram Stories to clarify some assumptions made by fans that were incorrect.
‘Just thought I would confirm with everyone, because I’ve had heaps of messages… I was not intoxicated whilst I rolled the buggy. I blew zero, they breath-tested me.’
The accident didn’t appear to dampen the group’s moods, as they partied until the early hour of the morning together to ring in 2021.
