‘I’m up at 2.45am!’ GMB’s Charlotte Hawkins bemoans her VERY early New Year’s Day start and admits she will be ‘lucky to make it to midnight’ on NYE

And Charlotte Hawkins’ breakfast TV hosting role means late nights are a no-go, a fact the star, 45, pointed out on Thursday morning, while discussing plans for New Year’s Eve with her co-star Sean Fletcher, 46.
As the duo, who are filling in for Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, touched on how ‘different’ the holiday would be given the pandemic, Charlotte admitted she ‘may not make it to midnight’ as she wakes up at 2.45am for work.

Charlotte has been hosting the show during the festive period and due to the 6am start, has now revealed just how early she is forced to start her day.
With New Year’s Eve celebrations just hours away, the stand-in stars discussed how the restrictions of coronavirus will prevent festivities going ahead as usual.
She said: ‘Obviously it’s going to be a different New Year’s Eve celebration for everybody, isn’t it? Very different from what we’re used to with lots of parties and everything. We’ve been told to stay indoors, stay with our households.’
Sean responded: ‘I don’t normally do a big thing on New Year’s Eve and I will be doing pretty much the same, I’ll throw a small thing just the family. I’ll be staying in and I know lots of people who’d normally go out…

‘My daughter’s gonna be 23 next year and my son is 17, that’s the time you normally go out. They’re gonna be with their parents! What a drab New Year’s Eve for them.’
Charlotte added: ‘Well I’ll be lucky if I make it ’til midnight, I think, because I’m getting up at 2:45 in the morning…
‘That’s quite a long day! It’s worth celebrating, we want to put this year behind us and move on to next year.’

Her big reveal comes shortly after Charlotte shared an adorable video of her daughter Ella Rose, five, getting into the festive spirit as she encouraged the audience to sing along with her in the heartwarming clip.
In the video, Ella says to the camera: ‘Now I’m going to sing a song so you’re all going to join in in three, two, one…’ before she launches into the song.
Her vocal skills clearly won over Good Morning Britain hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid who both gushed over the video.

Speaking to Charlotte via video, Piers joked: ‘Do you know what? Finally we’ve got some talent from that family. She can sing. She even looks like Shirley Temple’.
Charlotte shares Ella with her husband Mark Herbert, with the couple marrying in 2008 after five years together.
She welcomed Ella in February 2015 after announcing her pregnancy on Good Morning Britain the previous August.
