Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin keep a very low-profile in Aspen… after sparking engagement rumors

Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are spending New Years in Aspen.

The celebrity couple kept a very low-profile while visiting Buttermilk Mountain Ski Area, bundled up so much you could hardly see their faces.

Dakota’s face was hidden under a brown scarf, tortoiseshell sunglasses and a camel-hued Gucci/North Face beanie pulled down low on her forehead.

The 31-year-old actress’ generic winter ensemble also made her hard to recognize, consisting of a very puffy black jacket and blue jeans with furry hiking boots.

Coldplay singer Chris, 43, was even more incognito, covering his face with a wide black face mask and pulling a baby blue hat down so low you could barely see his eyes.

He was dressed in head-to-toe black, teaming a black jacket with black sweats and snow boots.

The duo’s vacation comes just a few weeks a after Dakota prompted engagement rumors after she was seen large emerald ring on her left finger.

The very private couple have  been together since fall of 2017, but then briefly broke up in June 2019, only to get back together by August of last year.

‘They are very low-key together,’ a source told People in April. ‘…They seem to enjoy sharing a quiet life. It does seem they are getting more serious.’ 

Martin was wed to Gwyneth Paltrow from 2003 to 2016 and the duo share  children Apple, 16, and Moses, 14.

And the actress, who is now married to TV creator Brad Falchuk, hasn’t hidden her love for Dakota, telling Harper’s Bazaar: ‘I just adore her.’

‘I love her. I can see how it would seem weird because it’s sort of unconventional,’ Paltrow said. 

‘But I think, in this case, just having passed through it iteratively, I just adore her. I always start to think of the ampersand sign — what else can you bring in, instead of being resistant to or being made insecure by? There’s so much juice in leaning in to something like that.’
