Ben Fordham shares a touching New Year’s Eve message to fans

Ben Fordham has shared a touching moment with wife Jodie Speers and one-year-old daughter Goldie.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the radio star posted adorable footage of his daughter kissing his wife.

‘Do you love mummy?’ he asked the youngster, who then excitedly pointed to Jodie before giving her a kiss on the cheek. 

‘Here’s to 2021 loving you as much as Goldie loves Jodie Speers,’ he captioned the short clip of his wife and daughter. 

A number of Ben’s fans gushed over the post while wishing him and his family a Happy New Year. 

Ben shares three children, son Freddy, six, and daughters Pearl, four, and Goldie, one, with, Jodie, a Channel Seven journalist. 

It comes amid good news for Ben, who was recently named Sydney’s most listened to AM radio program.

The final ratings survey of the year revealed he had secured an impressive audience share of 17.1 per cent.

Over on the FM bandwidth, KIIS 106.5’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show ended the year with an 11.3 per cent audience share.

‘Hey guys, thanks for listening to the radio show, we’ve just got the ratings in and we’ve finished the year on top so thank you very much for listening,’ Ben said. 

Ben previously said he didn’t want the 2GB breakfast job, and that it was actually his wife who made the decision for him. 

Ben told Stellar magazine in May that he’d turned down the role multiple times because he wasn’t sure whether it would be the best for his family.

‘I totally appreciate that the job itself is a spectacular one. But make no mistake, it’s not one I was chasing for family reasons. I just wasn’t,’ he said.

‘I was concerned about the impact it would have on the family setup. And I suppose I just thought it would be easier not to. I think I said no about six times.’
